Chicago was definitely a great place for the 2008 SHRM conference. Mark Patte, Paolo Gilfillan, James Edwards and I definitely had a great time seeing the Chicago sites.A few great sites we saw:
- Ambassador East Hotel – The hotel that we stayed at during the trip. This hotel was used in a 1959 Alfred Hitchcock movie called North by Northwest.
- The Pump Room – A beautiful 5 star restaurant and lounge located inside the Ambassador East Hotel. Great live music and atmosphere.
- Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap - Home of the world’s hottest chicken wings. (I managed to eat 7 before I had to ring the bell and give up. Not even a pint of milk and bowl of ice cream could help!) Mark tried one wing and looked like the temperature went up 150 Degrees in a split second!
- McCormick and Schmitz - The best seafood in Chicago.
- Gibsons Steakhouse - A highly recommended steakhouse. Was by far the best steak we have ever eaten in our entire life! Thanks Kevin for your hospitality.
- Edwardos – The best pizza ever! (Classic Chicago deep dish pizza)
The SHRM Conference was definitely a great success! TimeTECH listened to all of the SHRM delegate’s needs and concerns relating to time and attendance / workforce management.
There are many opportunities for TimeTECH to help these organizations ease their HR / Payroll headaches by automating their current practices. We really enjoyed ourselves in Chicago and can’t wait for 2009’s SHRM conference in New Orleans.
See you in New Orleans in 09!
